In May we celebrate the Memorial of St. Joseph the Worker (May 1), the Feast of St. Philip and James (May 3), Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord – Day of Obligation – (May 9), Feast of Our Lady of Fatima (May 13th), Feast of St. Matthias (May 14), Solemnity of Pentecost Sunday (May 19th), Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity (May 26th), and the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (May 31th). This month offers special opportunities to worship God and to honor those who said yes to His call.
On a personal note, on May 6, Lydia and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary and May 29th marks the first anniversary of my sister Lila’s death. Of course, there is Mother’s Day.
In all, May is marked by veneration and love.
