“Out of the depths I call to you, Lord;

Lord, hear my cry!” (Psalm 130:1)

There is so much despair in our world, and its consequences are infecting us physically, emotionally, and mentally. Grief, loneliness, depression are robbing us of connections, joy, and peace. All of us, directly or indirectly, have been touched by the claws of despair. The pain we experience begs the question: Where is God?

The good news is that God is within each of us. He is present in the prayers we offer for each others. God is present in our almsgiving to those in need. God is present when we unite our suffering with the Passion of Jesus Christ.

Today’s Intention:

Lord, hear our cry for help this Lent and give us relief. May the Holy Spirit give us the strength to withstand suffering; to inspire those with resources to share them compassionately with those in need.

Peace and Goodness
